In memory of actress Laurie Beechman (Cats), who died of cancer Mar. 8, the NIKO Companies will hold its "First Annual Laurie Beechman Memorial Golf & Tennis Outing," June 8, at the Pelham Country Club in suburban Westchester County, NY.

Hosting the 11 AM event will be Tony Randall and Jack Klugman -- an appropriate twosome since the fund-raising outing benefits Randall's National Actors Theatre (NAT), currently housing The Sunshine Boys on Broadway through June 28.

Said NAT director of development Michael Kramer, "Laurie's husband, Neil Mazzella (owner of Hudson Scenic Design), thought the event would be a nice tribute to her. It's mostly industry people participating as golfers, and diners and offering items for donation at auction."

According to spokesperson Kramer, participating this year will be Ernie Sabella (Chicago) and theatre industry folks from Shering Plough Corporations, Congressman John Warner, PACE Theatrical, The Hit Show Club, TeleCharge, the West Bank Cafe. Beechman's father and brother are also expected to attend.

Best known for singing "Memory" in Cats, Beechman also received a Tony nomination for her work in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. -- By David Lefkowitz
