SAN GABRIEL, CA -- Single tickets are now available for 42nd Street, the Harry Warren musical, opening Oct. 9 at the Civic Auditorium for a two-week run.
Produced by the Music Theatre of Southern California, 42nd Street will then be seen at The Alex in Glendale, Oct. 30 - Nov. 1.
A mammoth show with 21 scene changes, 450 costumes, 153 pairs of shoes and no fewer than 17 musical numbers, 42nd Street also has a cast of 42 characters. Bill Shaw directs for MTSC and John C. Vaughan is the choreographer.
Harry Warren had as many hit songs as his contemporaries in the 1930s but was not as well known to the public. Among his hit songs are "Jeepers Creepers," "An Affair to Remember" and "Lullaby of Broadway." The latter is from 42nd Street, as are "We're in the Money" and "Shuffle Off to Buffalo." For tickets to San Gabriel call (626) 308-2868. For tickets to The Alex call (800) 233-3123.
