Lea DeLaria can a fill a comedy club and can bring down a Broadway house. But until April 12, the One the Town star won't have tested her mettle as a diva. On that date, DeLaria will inaugurate the new "Diva Series" at Joe's Pub with her show, "It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's DeLaria." She will play additional dates April 19 & 26 and May 3, all at 8:30 PM.
DeLaria will be backed by a three-piece band and will sing a variety of jazz and Broadway selections, spiced with bits of comedy.
Joe's Pub, a new bar and night spot enclosed with the Public Theatre, opened its doors last fall. It has since housed such talents as Audra McDonald, Comden and Green and Dawn Upshaw.
