Lea DeLaria, who had a hit at the Manhattan night spot Joe's Pub last spring, will return this December with her new show, Who You Callin' Ho Ho Ho -- A Very Lea Christmas. The comedy variety show will run Dec. 3-5, 10-12 and 17-19, all shows at 9 PM (except Dec. 11, which will begin at 8 PM). DeLaria performed at the Public Theater's Joe's Pub last April and May, in It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's DeLaria, inaugurating the venue's "Diva Series." She was backed by a three-piece band and sang a variety of jazz and Broadway selections, spiced with bits of comedy.
In her new show, DeLaria will offer sketch comedy, Christmas carols and explain why she hates the holiday. Featured guests will include Justynn Daniels, the lead singer of the band Gun Shy Hostess, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, DeLaria's co-star in On the Town and The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, without whom no Lea DeLaria appearance would be complete.
