News Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Kristen Bell, Ben Affleck Win Do Something Awards; Ceremony Airs Aug. 21 The 2012 Do Something Awards, which honor the nation's "best, young world-changers," were presented Aug. 19 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The 2012 ceremony, which is broadcast Aug. 21 at 9 PM ET on VH1, was hosted by Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris, who co-star in the Fox comedy "New Girl." The evening included musical performances, and "do-er" Katia Gomez received a grand prize of $100,000 for creating Educate2Envision, which provides education for young citizens of Honduras. 

"Glee" star Michele took home the award for Female TV Star with her co-star Monteith receiving the Male TV Star award. 

Other winners included Kristen Bell for Twitter account, Ben Affleck for Facebook and Emma Stone for Female Movie Star as well as Hope Solo, Joel McHale, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Will.i.am, Giuliana Rancic, "Invisible Children Kony 2012," Josh Hutcherson, "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Big Bang Theory." 

The VH1 Do Something Awards are executive-produced by Michael Dempsey for Dempsey Productions and Lee Rolontz for VH1. Nancy Lublin and Naomi Hirabayashi oversee the awards show for DoSomething.org.
