News Leaders of Reprise Working Toward Rebirth of Los Angeles-Based Theatre Company Reprise Theatre Company, which had canceled its April production of The Apple Tree in order to "assess its future programming and the funding of that programming," has hired veteran theatre executive Stephen Eich.

According to a Nov. 14 letter from Reprise artistic director Jason Alexander and Board president Barbara Fodor, Eich, who was managing director and executive director of the Geffen Playhouse, will "help us chart a strong and vital future for [Reprise Theatre Company]." In early 2013 the company will "unveil some of the new ideas" it is exploring. These ideas include "the examination of new and unique venues for our musical performances, programming that is far more diverse and engaging, and many options on how to become part of the new Reprise."

Reprise's mission is to "produce musical theatre of the highest artistic quality and to make this art form accessible to new audiences through education and outreach programs."
