Running through May 24 at the East Theatre, Leavitt will also star as John Thomas Blackwell in a cast that also features Nicholas Tucci (Anubis), Karen Jean Olds (Sophie) and Nicholas Vitulli (Dr. Beaurieux, Claude Crum, Dr. Licht). Dead Therefore I Am, according to press notes, "centers around a young man named J.T. Blackwell on the morning of his 30th birthday, as he scratches into the wall of his broken brain another painful year in a lifetime of deepening depression. Plagued by the sadistic Egyptian God Anubis, Blackwell discovers his will to live in the Goth-Punk girl next door, Sophie. Just as he chooses life, his circumstances take a turn for the worse."

Designing the world premiere are Bill Sloggatt and Justin Sloggatt of SIX 14 Productions, who will handle set and lighting design. Sarah E. Baker produces.

Leavitt has also penned and starred in Mala. He is known for serving as the bandleader for NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly."
