Legally Blonde sorority sister Dequina Moore will leave the Broadway production of the new musical July 1 to begin filming a television movie.

Moore, according to a production spokesperson, will be replaced by Asmeret Ghebremichael, who will step into the role of Delta Nu sister, Pilar, on July 2.

Ghebremichael has been seen on Broadway in Spamalot, Wicked and Footloose as well as the Off-Broadway hit In the Heights and Lone Star Love.

Also slated to leave the production in August is Legally Blonde star Leslie Kritzer. Kritzer has been cast in the upcoming Harvey Fiersten-John Bucchino musical A Catered Affair, which is slated for out of town try-outs in September at San Diego's Old Globe.

Legally Blonde has music and lyrics by both Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy: The Musical, Cam Jansen and the Curse of the Emerald Elephant, Sarah, Plain and Tall) and Nell Benjamin (Cam Jansen, Sarah, Plain and Tall, The Mice) and a book by Heather Hach (the film "Freaky Friday"). James Sampliner serves as music director. Orchestrations are by Christopher Jahnke. Jerry Mitchell directs and choreographs the production. For more information visit
