News Legally Blonde's Bundy to Receive Sardi's Caricature as Musical Finishes Freshman Year In honor of its first anniversary on Broadway, Legally Blonde cast members will make several appearances across Manhattan. The show's leading lady, Laura Bell Bundy, will also be honored with a Sardi's caricature.

Company members from the pop-tuner will perform selections at the NBA store on April 24 from 2-5 PM. Later in the day, Tony nominee Bundy's caricature will be unveiled at Sardi's.

Additional events include Legally Blonde cast member Becky Gulsvig performing the first act closer, "So Much Better," on May 3 to commence the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women. Cast members from the musical will also perform at 11 AM on May 3 as part of the opening of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Legally Blonde officially enters its sophomore year on Broadway April 29.

The musical version of the popular 2001 film has a score by Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy: The Musical) and Nell Benjamin (Sarah, Plain and Tall) with a book by Heather Hach (the film "Freaky Friday"). Tony Award-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell made his directorial debut with the musical, which he also choreographed.

Legally Blonde began previews April 3, 2007, following an out-of-town engagement at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre. The musical officially opened April 29, 2007, at the Palace Theatre on Broadway. The musical centering on the pink-clad Elle Woods who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard, was broadcast in its entirety nationwide on the MTV Network last fall. Following the success of the broadcast, which reached some 12.5 million viewers, MTV has also filmed a new reality series to find the next Elle Woods for the Broadway production. An official air date has not been announced.

Legally Blonde embarks on a national tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island on Sept. 23.

James Sampliner serves as music director for Legally Blonde, with orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke. The production features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.

The score includes "Omigod You Guys," "Serious," "What You Want," "Harvard Variations," "Blood in the Water," "Positive, "Ireland," "Chip on My Shoulder," "So Much Better," "Whipped into Shape," "Take It Like a Man," "Bend and Snap," "There! Right There!" "Legally Blonde," "Legally Blonde Remix" and "Find My Way/Finale."

Hal Luftig, Fox Theatricals and Dori Berinstein produce the show on Broadway, in association with MGM Onstage, Darcie Denkert and Dean Stolber.
