News Les Dennis to Star in London Premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's Drowing on Dry Land Les Dennis will star in the London premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's 2004 play Drowning on Dry Land, beginning performances at Jermyn Street Theatre Feb. 22, prior to an official opening Feb. 24, for a run through March 19.

Guy Retallack will direct the play, which according to press materials, "explores fame and celebrity through the rise and fall of Charlie Conrad, an injured sportsman and useless quiz contestant who becomes famous just for being a failure. Set in Charlie’s vast Victorian folly, this comedy cleverly reveals the fickle nature of the fame game when he is caught in a compromising situation with the female clown at his son's birthday party." Dennis, who will play Charlie's agent Jason, has been seen in the West End in Chicago and Me and My Girl, and U.K. tours of Hairspray and High School Musical 2. He is best known for hosting the ITV game show "Family Fortunes." Further casting is to be announced.
