After 18 years and 151 cities, the North American tour of the international award-winning musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg will end its run at the Fox Theatre, July 18-23. Expect a big cast party in St. Louis.

The tour opened in Tampa, FL, Nov. 28, 1988 and has since played 521 engagements throughout North America (a hiatus or two happened in between).

Group discounts (20 or more) for the final St. Louis run are now available by calling (314) 535-2900.

Single tickets go on sale Sunday, May 21 at 11 AM for this 10th and final St. Louis engagement.

As previously announced, Les Miz will then return to Broadway in a revival to open at the Broadhurst Theatre this November. The physical production will be shipped to New York, with a new cast to be announced for what's billed as the Broadway revival (it closed on Broadway three years ago). "We've had an incredible run on the road with Les Miz, and I thought it a splendid idea to end the show at The Fox where it has been so extraordinarily loved," Mackintosh stated.

Fox Theatre vice-president Mike Isaacson stated, "Les Miz has held a special place in the hearts of our audiences since it first played in March 1989."

The show has been seen at the Fox by more than 270,000 people and has grossed more than $10.3 million in nine previous engagements.

Isaacson continued, "We are so honored that Cameron has given the Fox this opportunity. This is a great testament to the Fox's audiences that we were selected over the dozens of cities who wanted to host this historic engagement. Given the devotion of Les Miz fans throughout the country, we can expect there will be quite a few visitors to St. Louis to say 'au revoir' to this beloved production."

The musical drawn from the Victor Hugo novel opened in London in 1985 and recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary on Oct. 8, 2005. The show had its American premiere at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in December 1986 and opened on Broadway March 12, 1987 where it played over 16 years, ending May 18, 2003. It is currently the third longest running show in Broadway history with 6,680 performances.

Currently featured in the final touring cast are Broadway's final "Jean Valjean," Randal Keith along with Robert Hunt as "Inspector Javert," and Joan Alemdilla as "Fantine."

The final tour stops of the Broadway national tour of Les Miz are Philadelphia's Forrest Theatre March 1-19, Waterbury, CT's Palace Theatre March 21-26, Detroit's Fisher March 28-April 16, Cleveland's Allen Theatre April 18-23, Cincinnati's Aronoff Center April 25-30, Denver's Buell Theatre May 3-7, Tucson's Music Hall May 9-14, Tempe, AZ's Gammage Auditorium May 16-21, Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre May 24-June 4, Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre June 7-18, Dallas' Orpheum Theatre June 21-July 2, plus two dates to be announced, and St. Louis' Fox Theatre July 18-23.
