News Les Miz's McVey Part of Staged Reading of Great Bridge Musical Former Jean Valjean J. Mark McVey will be part of the staged reading of the new musical The Great Bridge Jan. 23, 2005.

The reading will be held at Makor, the 92nd Street Y space located on West 67th Street. Avenue Q's Jen Bender will direct the Mark Weiser musical about Emily Roebling, the woman behind the building of the historic Brooklyn Bridge. Show time is 7:30 PM. The Great Bridge, according to press notes, concerns the life of Roebling, who, "immersed in a man's world, navigated corrupt politicians, greedy financiers, scandal and tragedy to shepherd one of mankind's 'standing works of art' to completion. Uniting a family at odds, a Board in turmoil, and two cities divided by an ever-widening gulf, Emily Roebling truly was The Great Bridge." The reading will also include the talents of Charles Bergell, Gregg Goodbrod, Richard True, Tim Carosi and Todd Alan Johnson; Mark Hartman is the evening's musical director.

Tickets, priced at $15, are available by calling (212) 601-1000. Makor is located at 35 West 67th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. Visit www.makor.org for more information.
