Murney, who joined Closer Than Ever Aug. 6, will depart the production Aug. 25 to fulfill previous commitments. On Aug. 9, the York announced that Closer Than Ever would extend its run for a second time through Sept. 30.

Kritzer (Legally Blonde, Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair, Funny Girl) will perform such songs as "Miss Byrd," "Back on Bass" and duet with cast member Jacquelyn Piro Donovan on "It's Never That Easy/I've Been Here Before."

The 1989 revue has music by David Shire and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. The two also penned Starting Here, Starting Now; Baby; Big; and, most recently, Take Flight.

With direction by Maltby, associate direction and choreography by Kurt Stamm and music direction by Andrew Gerle, Closer Than Ever also features George Dvorsky and Sal Viviano.

The production is described as an "intimate musical about love, friendship, security, happiness — and holding onto those essentials in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once." The creative team includes Kurt Stamm (choreography), James Morgan (sets), Nicole Wee (costumes), Kirk Bookman (lights) and Stephanie Wagner (props). The production stage manager is Bernita Robinson.

Show times are Monday and Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday-Friday 8 PM and Saturday at 2:30 PM and 8 PM.

As previously reported, a cast recording will be released by Jay Records on a date to be announced. The original Off-Broadway cast recording is available from RCA Victor.
