Stage stars Malcolm Gets, Victoria Clark, Lauren Flanigan and Norm Lewis will sing the music of composer Marc Blitzstein on March 24 as part of "Lincoln Center's American Songbook" series. The event will take place at 8 PM and 10 PM at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse (165 W. 65th Street, 10th floor).
Gets and Lewis were seen in the Lincoln Center Theater production of William Finn's A New Brain. Clark starred in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed....
Blitzstein is best known as the composer of The Cradle Will Rock, which was famously premiered by Orson Welles and John Houseman's Mercury Theatre in the '30s. Interest in his worked revived after the release of the 1999 movie "Cradle Will Rock." His other works include Regina and Reuben, Reuben.
