News Life of Tennessee Williams Will Be Explored on Silver Screen An adaptation of John Lahr's Tennessee Williams biography is heading to the silver screen, according to Deadline.com.

Broad Green Pictures has acquired the rights to Lahr's "Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh." Lahr was a long-time theatre critic for The New Yorker.

The award-winning tome details Williams' life from birth through death. No casting, screenwriter or release date have been announced.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright is the author of The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Rose Tattoo, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Sweet Bird of Youth and more.

"Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh" won the National Book Critics Circle Award, The American Academy of Arts and Letters Award and the Lamda Award as well as the Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography in the U.K.
