New York’s Signature Theatre kicked off its winter season January 31 with a world-premiere staging of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Everybody, directed by Lila Neugebauer. In April, the director will return to direct The Antipodes, a brand-new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker.
Baker, who is a resident playwright at the Signature, returns for her second play at the Off-Broadway theatre. The Antipodes follows the world premiere of John, a drama directed by Tony winner Sam Gold, which sold out its extended engagement.
Neugebauer recently directed Sarah Delappe’ acclaimed, extended engagement of The Wolves Off-Broadway.
Performances of The Antipodes are scheduled to begin April 4 in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre. The Signature has not yet revealed what the play is about, but for more information visit SignatureTheatre.org.
