News Lillias White Celebrates 65th Birthday in NYC The Tony winner is offering The Birthday Show at the Triad.
Tony Award winner Lillias White, whose Broadway credits include Once On This Island, Dreamgirls, Barnum, Chicago, The Life and Fela!, celebrates her 65th birthday with three concerts in Manhattan beginning July 22.

The Broadway favorite returns to The Triad (158 W. 72nd St.) for performances of The Birthday Show July 22 at 9 PM, July 23 at 11 PM and July 24 at 7 PM.

The evening includes music by Prince; Nina Simone’s “Forbidden Fruit”; “Waiting for Life” from Once On This Island; an original song by Timothy Graphenreed; and more. Musical director Graphenreed is featured on piano with Gary Haase on bass and Buddy Williams on drums. White’s back-up singers are Ramona Keller, Kojo Littles and Clayton Bryant.

White said in a previous statement, “I am celebrating LIFE, LOVE and JOY and PAIN—...AND....The fact that at 65...I'm Still Here and I STILL GOT ‘IT’ to give!!!…Gift rubies will be accepted—and please wear white.”

For her performance in The Life, White received Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Tony awards.

The show is presented by Lee Summers in association with Peter Martin.

Tickets are $25 (plus a two-drink minimum) and can be purchased online at Triadnyc.com.
