Actress Lillias White performs her new one-woman show "From Brooklyn To Broadway," at Arci’s Place beginning March 14. White's run is scheduled through April 1.
Described as a musical journey from the place of her birth to her performance on Broadway in the award-winning show, The Life, White earned the 1997 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and People’s Choice Awards for her portrayal of Sonja, the hooker, in the Cy Coleman musical.
At Arci's Place, White will be accompanied by musical director Timothy Graphenreed on piano, with Gary Haase on bass and Buddy Williams on drums.
White's credits also include the 1995 revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Her Broadway roles include Once on this Island, Dreamgirls, Cats, Rock ’n Roll The First 5000 Years and Barnum. Her most recent New York theatre appearance was in the WPA Theatre production of Dinah Was. White has performed at New York City's The Blue Note, B. Smith’s, Maxim’s and Wilson’s and the Cinegrill in Los Angeles where she will have a return engagement of "From Brooklyn To Broadway" following this run.
