Tony Award winner Lillias White will be the special guest for the May 29 Memorial Day edition of the live Broadway talk show Stage Fright at the Therapy lounge in New York.
White, who won her Tony and other awards playing Sonja in the 1997 Cy Coleman musical The Life, has appeared on Broadway in Fela!, Once on This Island, the revival of Dreamgirls (as Effie), and other musicals. She also has maintained a busy career as a concert performer. She appeared in the Chicago tryout of the new musical Gotta Dance (since retitled Half Time), which is reportedly being prepared for Broadway.
Stage Fright is hosted by drag personality Marti Gould Cummings with musical direction by Bradford Proctor. Guests are interviewed, do a performance, then play a game with the audience.
Stage Fright is performed every Monday at 10 PM at Therapy, located on 52nd Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Tickets can be ordered by clicking here.
