News   Lincoln Center Theater Announces Talkbacks With War Horse Creative Team
The creators of the acclaimed National Theatre production of War Horse, which has arrived on Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater, will discuss their work at the Vivian Beaumont Theater in April.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced two Platform Series talks, which will be held in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont, where War Horse plays. The events are free and open to the general public.

On April 6 at 5:45 PM, LCT will welcome Handspring Puppet Company founders and puppet creators Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler, who will discuss conceiving and building the life-sized equestrian puppets used in the production.

On April 13 at 5:45 PM, author Michael Morpurgo, who authored the original children's novel of the same title that inspired War Horse, will join co-directors Marianne Elliot and Tom Morris.

After a heralded London run, where it continues to play, War Horse began Broadway previews March 15 and will officially open April 14. The U.S. production reunites the entire original London creative team, but employs an all-American cast.

War Horse incorporates a series of life-sized equestrian puppets, which have the capability of strikingly lifelike movement. Each evocative creature is manipulated by an on-stage crew of three puppeteers who give life to a horse named Joey, as he grows from a skittish foal into a full-grown horse. Here's how LCT bills the work: "At the outbreak of World War I, Joey, young Albert's beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. Joey is soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a mission to find his horse and bring him home."

Tickets, ranging $75 to $125, are available by visiting Telecharge or WarHorseonBroadway.
