Jekyll & Hyde's Linda Eder is featured as Wendy with baritone Daniel Narducci as Captain Hook. Alexander Frey is the conductor of the recording, which includes such songs as "Who Am I," "Pirate's Song," "Plank Round," "Build My House," "Peter Peter," "Captain Hook Soliloquy" and "Dream With Me." The 30-track disc also includes a bonus duet of Eder and Michael Shawn Lewis singing "Spring Will Come Again," which was to be part of a musical version of "The Skin of Our Teeth" by Bernstein and Comden and Green that never came to fruition. Leonard Bernstein's Peter Pan — a musical version of the JM Barrie classic — ran on Broadway April 1950-January 1951. Much of the music that the famed composer wrote for the production went unused because of the limited vocal abilities of the original cast, which included Jean Arthur as Peter Pan and Boris Karloff as Captain Hook. The new disc preserves the score as Bernstein originally intended. (The better-known musical version of Peter Pan featured Mary Martin in the title role and a score by Mark Charlap and Carolyn Leigh with additional music/lyrics by Jule Styne and Comden and Green.)
Linda Eder made her Broadway debut as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde, garnering a Theatre World Award as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for her work. Also a concert and recording artist, her solo CDs include "Linda Eder," "And So Much More," "It's Time," "Gold" and "Broadway My Way." Eder also starred in Frank Wildhorn's Camille Claudel at Goodspeed.
