The Bay Street Theatre Company of Sag Harbor, Long Island, will shutter its production of You Can't Take It with You on Sept. 3. The play began performances on Aug. 16.
The cast includes theatre stalwarts such as Mason Adams, of television's "Lou Grant" and the stage's Lake Hollywood, who plays Martin Vanderhoff, the patriarch of the comedy's different drummer family. Backing him up with by Tony-winner Roger Bart (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) as Ed, Joan Copeland (The Torch Bearers) as Mrs. Kirby, Jennifer Dundas Lowe (Arcadia, Good as New) as Alice, Penny Fuller (A New Brain) as Penelope Sycamore and Mary Testa (On the Town, Marie Christine) as Olga.
Completing the cast are Shelley Dulaney as Essie, John Fiedler as Mr. DePinna, Jonathan Freeman (She Loves Me) as Boris Kolenkhov, Bryan Hicks as Donald, Tom Gustin as Henderson, Larry Keith (Titanic) as Mr. Kirby, Talmadge Lowe (Tony Kirby), Roz Ryan (Violet) as Rheba, Michael DeSanti and Robert Meehan. Jack Hofsiss, who recently piloted Avow Off-Broadway, directs.
You Can't Take It With You wraps up the Bay Street's mainstage season, which has featured Hedda Gabler and Love, Janis.
