When Jeff Baron left his corporate career to become a writer, he probably hoped that at least one of his plays would be produced all over the country. His first hit, Visiting Mr. Green, is doing just that.

After its successful run of over 400 performances at Off-Broadway's Union Square Theatre, the play has already had countless stagings across the country, including recent turns at the Cape Playhouse of Dennis, MA and Shadowland Theatre of Ellenville, NY.

The latest theatre to visit Mr. Green is Long Island's BroadHollow Theatre in Bethpage. There, the story about two men who develop an unlikely friendship will be helmed by BroadHollow veteran Marian Waller. In Mr. Green, the title character, an elderly, retired gentleman is run down by 29-year-old gay executive, Ross Gardiner. As punishment, Gardiner is forced to serve community service with the old man for six months. In that time, the two move from comically hating one another to a deep and loving friendship.

Playing the role of the elderly Jewish widower who wanders into traffic is Harvard Mann. Taking on the role of the young executive who nearly mauls the elderly Mr. Green is Ed Brennan.

Visiting Mr. Green runs July 22-Aug. 13 at the BroadHollow Theatre, 200 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, L.I. For tickets and information call (631) 581-2700. -- By David Lefkowitz
