Directed by Atlantic Acting School artistic director Alison Beatty, performances of Camp Kappawanna will continue through April 12.

"Following the misadventures of 12-year old Jennifer Jenkins, an awkward and adorable 12-year-old kid, Camp Kappawanna portrays the fear and excitement of leaving home for the first time," press notes state. "This lighthearted musical, inspired by Lisa Loeb’s own nostalgic summer camp memories, has an acoustic sound that will take you back to nights spent around the camp fire."

Camp Kappawanna features choreography by MK Lawson. Nate Weida provides musical direction.

Loeb launched The Camp Lisa Foundation to help raise funds to send kids to camp in 2008. She collaborated with Kay Hanley, Jill Sobule, Nina Gordon and Steve Martin to record the companion CD "Camp Lisa."

The musical plays every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 AM, with two weekday performances April 8 and April 10 at 10:30 AM.

The Linda Gross Theater is located at 336 West 20th Street. Visit atlantictheater.org for more information.
