More than 45,000 New Yorkers are expected to take part in this year's fundraiser, which is set for Sunday, May 15. McGovern and Norah Jones will offer special musical performances at the yearly event. Other celebrities scheduled to take part in the AIDS Walk include Rita Moreno, John Spencer, Hal Sparks, Bill Brochtrup, Richard Thomas, Bruce Vilanch and "Queer Eye" co-stars Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia and Jai Rodriguez. The annual AIDS Walk benefits the Gay Men's Health Crisis. In the past 20 years, the fundraiser has raised nearly $80 million for GMHC and other local AIDS organizations. In a statement, GMHC Executive Director Ana Oliveira said, "The first AIDS Walk New York was truly a pivotal event in AIDS awareness and fundraising. As we mark 20 years of walking to fight AIDS, we draw strength and inspiration from the unceasing commitment of the New York community to overcoming this epidemic. AIDS remains a serious public health emergency and on May 15, we will join together with more than 45,000 New Yorkers to change the course of the epidemic."

Maureen McGovern's performing credits are numerous and varied. She appeared on Broadway in Nine, The Pirates of Penzance and The Threepenny Opera, and her many recordings include the Grammy nominated "The Pleasure of His Company" and the Academy Award-winning song "The Morning After." She was also seen in the films "The Towering Inferno," "Airplane!" and "The Cure for Boredom," and she appeared at the Sundance Theatre in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Jerry Herman's Dear World.
