News Live Out Loud to Honor Terrence McNally With Legend Award Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, who recently returned to Broadway with his new drama Mothers and Sons, will be honored with Live Out Loud's Legend Award.

Live Out Loud, the nonprofit organization that dedicates its work to inspiring and empowering LGBTQ youth by connecting them with successful LGBTQ professionals in their community, will honor the four-time Tony Award-winning playwright at the April 28 Young Trailblazers Gala at the TimesCenter.

The annual event celebrates the revolutionary role of LGBTQ leaders in business, arts, politics, religion and culture.

Mothers and Sons stars Tyne Daly as a mother, still awash in grief and denial, who lost her son during the height of the AIDS crisis and returns to visit his former partner, who is now legally married and has an adopted child.

The compelling drama marks McNally's 20th Broadway production and the 50th anniversary of his Broadway debut. His others include Bad Habits; The Ritz; The Rink; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Love! Valour! Compassion!; Master Class; Ragtime; The Full Monty; and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. He is an Emmy Award winner for "Andre's Mother," a precursor to Mothers and Sons.

The Young Trailblazers Gala culminates with the Live Out Loud Youth Scholarship presentation to "youth who have made significant contributions to society by Living Out Loud." Tickets to the gala begin at $250. Visit liveoutloud.info for ticket information.
