News "Living" Maven Stewart is Object of Obsession in New Fringe Musical Martha & Me, Aug. 15-29 Martha Stewart is at the center of much media at the moment. She is also the focus of a new musical at this year's New York International Fringe Festival called Martha & Me: A Musical.

The Perfect Salad Production is set to play Aug. 15-29 at The Linhart Theater @ 440 Studios for the eighth annual festival.

Martha & Me: A Musical centers on Martha-obsessed Betsey Parsait as she "struggles to prepare the perfect Thanksgiving dinner for her family and neighbors," reads the show release. The impeccable meal is put in jeopardy, however, when Betsey's eldest son unleashes a surprising revelation.

The musical comedy features music and lyrics by Robert Rokicki with a book by Sunny Dahlia Turner. Director Adam Levi, Rokicki and Turner provide the original concept. Arranger Caren Cole serves as musical director.

"This show is about obsessions, familial relationships, and women's roles in society,” stated bookwriter Turner. "In the words of Betsey's neighbor, Missy: 'Now we’re expected to have a family, pursue a career, and make place-mats out of pressed flowers.'"

Jennifer Allen (Little Me, Guys and Dolls) stars as Betsey in the cast that includes Edward Prostak (Oliver!) as John Parsait, Ryland Shelton (Caligula: A Glam Rock Epic) as Jack Parsait, Kimberly Mahon (The Secret Garden) as Jenny Harrison, Eric Millegan (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Peter Harrison, Nick Gabriel as Benny Parsait, Larry Swansen (The King and I) as Uncle Joe, Bobbi Owens as Missy Stevens and Ernest Williams, Jr. as Tom Stevens. The design team features Olenka Denysenko (set) and Sarah Greene (costumes). Sarah Eliana Bisman serves as associate producer and assistant director.
