News Liza Minnelli Enters Rehab Facility Tony and Academy Award-winning actress Liza Minnelli, who underwent back surgery in September 2014, has entered a rehabilitation facility for substance abuse, according to USA Today.

A spokesperson for the acclaimed singing actress said in a statement, "Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility."

Liza Minnelli won Tony Awards for her performances in Flora, The Red Menace; and The Act. She also received a 1974 Special Tony Award for "adding lustre to the Broadway season."

She also won an Academy Award for her performance as Sally Bowles in the film version of the Broadway classic Cabaret.
