News Liza Minnelli, Who Recently Entered Rehab, Is "In Good Spirits" Tony and Academy Award-winning actress Liza Minnelli, who recently entered a rehabilitation facility for substance abuse, is in good spirits, according to a report in People Magazine.

A source close to the veteran performer told People, "Liza is doing very well in rehab and coming along fine… So eager to get out and go back to work, she is busy arranging her next projects."

A spokesperson for the acclaimed singing actress said in a previous statement, "Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility."

Minnelli won Tony Awards for her performances in Flora, The Red Menace; and The Act. She also received a 1974 Special Tony Award for "adding lustre to the Broadway season."

She also won an Academy Award for her performance as Sally Bowles in the film version of the Broadway classic Cabaret.
