A definitive plan was not announced; however, a statement released by the producers says that "exclusive global, theatrical and movie rights" have been acquired for "upcoming entertainment projects."

It was not revealed if a writer was attached to the project. Kirmser and Ponturo have previously collaborated with playwright Eric Simonson on their three Broadway sports outings.

As previously reported, a film adaptation of Lombardi is in development for Legendary Pictures. Based on Simonson's play and the book by David Marannis, "When Pride Still Mattered," it will have a screenplay by J.C. Chandor. Krimser and Ponturo will executive produce the film.
