Light will play the free-spirited, over-involved ex-mother-in-law of Michelle (Bonnie Somerville), who is juggling two kids, an ex-husband, her ex-in-laws, and a new romance with younger man Adam (Jesse Bradford), who has had no previous family responsibilities.
Best known for her work on the TV series "Who's the Boss" and "Ugly Betty," Light holds two Emmy Awards for her performance on the daytime soap opera "One Life to Live." Her stage credits include Wit, Hedda Gabler, Colder Than Here, Sorrows and Rejoicings, Company and Children.
The "Other People's Kids" pilot was written by Hunter Covington and will be directed by Michael Fresco.
