Fairtrade campaigners CAF Direct are organizing a vast arts event on board the British Airways London Eye (the landmark ferris wheel by the River Thames). On June 21, each of the wheel’s 32 capsules will house a different live show, featuring music, theatre and comedy. A wide variety of leading arts individuals and organizations will play to audiences of 20 per capsule.

Performers will include singer Damon Albarn, Beth Orton, Turin Brakes, hip hop artist Jonzi D, the National Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, comics Arthur Smith, Andy Zzaltsman and John Oliver, and the theatre group Recorded Delivery, who are visiting Tanzania to create a new "verite" piece about the lives of coffee growers. Tickets cost £21. There will be three show sessions, with boarding commencing at 7:30 PM, 8:15 PM and 9 PM. Shows will last around 30 minutes.

The London Eye is situated in one of London’s cultural hotspots. Nearby arts organizations on the south side of the Thames include the National Theatre, the Saatchi Gallery, Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe.
