News London Festival of Cabaret to Return in May; Maria Friedman, Adam Guettel, Jenna Russell, Scott Alan and More to Appear The London Festival of Cabaret, launched in 2013, will return for a second season, running in eight venues across London May 6-22. Amongst artists who will be appearing are Maria Friedman, Adam Guettel, Jenna Russell, Tony winner Douglas Hodge, Fascinating Aida, David Bedella, Julie Atherton, Lauren Fox, Barb Jungr and Russell Grant.

In a press statement LFOC patron Hodge commented, "Out of small acorns come big trees and cabaret is the super fertile ground where talents and ideas can first find their voice."

Maria Friedman and Adam Guettel will appear May 20-21 in concert and conversation at the West End's Ambassadors Theatre, to talk about and perform their favorite songs.

New York-based composer Scott Alan will appear May 13-16 at the London Hippodrome, joined by a rotating cast of special guests.

Amongst those appearing at Crazy Coqs will be Simon Green with his show So This Then Is Life (May 6-10), Lauren Fox with her show Love, Lust, Fear and Freedom: The Songs of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen (May 13-17), Annabel Leventon and Robert Meadore in Imperfect Relationships (May 14), and Gary Williams with his new show celebrating the life and music of Nat King Cole (May 20-24).

Fascinating Aida will present their new show Charm Offensive at the St. James Theatre for two performances May 11, while in the St. James Studio, shows will include Julie Atherton's Tempting Fate (May 9), David Bedella and Friends (who will include Douglas Hodge) in Primetime! (May 11), Sarah-Louise Young in Julie, Madly Deeply (May 13), Jenna Russell, Edward Seckerson and Jason Carr in Rodgers Revealed, a celebration of the songs of Richard Rodgers (May 14), and Alison Jiear in her show In Your Eyes (May 16 and 18). Janie Dee will present a master class on the art of performance May 22 at the London Hippodrome, with further master classs that are still to be announced to take palce at the Hospital Club's Oak Room. Artists appearing at the Pheasantry in Chelsea will include Gwyneth Herbert (May 19-20) and Russell Grant and Martin Milnes in their show Songs We Always Wanted to Sing – but Were Never Allowed to (May 21-22). Barb Jungr will present Hard Rain, singing the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, at the Jazz Club Soho at Pizza Express on Dean Street May 11-12. Xara Vaughan will appear at Jermyn Street Theatre May 12 and 19.
