As previously reported, much of the original 2009 Broadway revival cast of Hair, including a few replacements from the New York run, will repeat their work for the London revival, which reunites Tony-nominated director Diane Paulus and the Broadway creative team. The London production will officially open April 14. Creek, who toured in the 1994 production of Hair and appeared as Bobby Strong in the Broadway production of Urinetown, will portray Woof. Broadway revival cast member Bryce Ryness is not participating in the London run.
Other American actors making the trip are Kevin Kern (Wicked), Phyre Hawkins (The Color Purple) and Crystal Joy (Legally Blonde), who will join as tribe members.
Broadway cast members re-creating their work for the West End run are Tony nominees Gavin Creel as Claude and Will Swenson as Berger, as well as Sasha Allen as Dionne, Caissie Levy as Sheila, Allison Case as Crissy, Kacie Sheik as Jeanie, Darius Nichols as Hud, Megan Lawrence as Mother and Andrew Kober as Margaret Mead/Dad.
Tribe members also include Steel Burkhardt, Brianna Carlson, Matt De Angelis, Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Anthony Hollock, Kevin Kern John Moauro, Ato Blankson-Wood, Brandon Pearson, Hannah Shankman, Maya Sharpe, Kaitlin Kiyan, Megan Reinking and Michael James Scott.
Original Hair Broadway revival cast member Paris Remillard (who covers the roles of Claude and Woof) remains with the New York production, while Saycon Sengbloh currently stars in the Broadway cast of Fela! and Theo Stockman is part of the Broadway cast of American Idiot.
The London production is being produced by the Public Theater with Cameron Mackintosh and Broadway Across America.
