Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap has extended its booking period to May 31, 2003.
Given that the play arrived in the West End — first at the Ambassadors, then the neighboring (and current) venue of St Martin's — in the same year that the Queen did, this latest extension seems somewhat academic.
The Mousetrap's strength is that it works on two levels — as a fascinating example of 1950's theatre and as a play whose characterization and humor show why Agatha Christie has continued to be enjoyed by millions of fans long after she died.
