International News London's Back to the Future Welcomes New Cast Members August 17

Tony winner Roger Bart continues with the Olivier-winning production at the Adelphi Theatre.

Ben Joyce, who made his professional debut last year as Frankie Valli in the West End production of Jersey Boys, steps into the role of Marty McFly in the Olivier-winning Back to the Future The Musical beginning August 17 at the Adelphi Theatre. Joyce, who succeeds Olly Dobson, joins Tony winner Roger Bart, who continues in the role of Dr. Emmett Brown.

Also joining the company are Amber Davies (9 to 5) as Lorraine Baines McFly, Oliver Nicholas (All Kinds of Limbo) as George McFly, Jordan Benjamin (Hairspray) as Goldie Wilson, Harry Jobson as Biff Tannen, Sophie Naglik (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) as Jennifer Parker, and Gary Trainor (School of Rock) as Strickland. Will Haswell continues as the alternate Marty McFly and Dave McFly, and Emma Lloyd continues as Linda McFly.

New to the ensemble are Simeon Beckett, Sia Dauda, Tyler Davis, Glen Facey, Dylan Gordon-Jones, Adam Margilewski, Bryan Mottram, Anna Murray, Jon Reynolds, Georgia Tapp, and Charley Warburton, joining Amy Barker, Cameron McAllister, Alessia McDermott, Laura Mullowney, Melissa Rose, Justin Thomas, and Tavio Wright.

The production recently confirmed the news that the hit musical will open on Broadway in 2023 with additional details to be announced at a later time; Bart is reportedly in talks to bring his performance to the Main Stem. There are also further plans to roll out internationally.

Based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, the musical, which opened in London September 13, 2021, has a book by Bob Gale and new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy winner Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy winner Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film, including "The Power of Love" and "Johnny B. Goode."

The production is directed by Tony winner John Rando with set and costume design by Tim Hatley, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, lighting consulting by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Gareth Owen, video design by Finn Ross, choreography by Chris Bailey, musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow, illusions by Chris Fisher, orchestrations by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, and dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by David Grindrod Associates.
