News London's Barbican to Offer Japanese Hamlet Shakespeare's best-known play, Hamlet, is being staged at the Barbican Theatre beginning Aug. 28.

The production, directed by Jonathan Kent (who was joint artistic director of the Almeida for a decade), is produced by Thelma Holt (and others). It will run through Sept. 6.

Hamlet stars one of Japan's foremost classical actors, Nomura Mansai, whose performance received major critical acclaim when the production opened earlier this year in Tokyo The production at the Barbican will be performed in Japanese with English surtitles.
