Gene David Kirk, the theatre's artistic director, will direct, with choreography by Lee Proud and musical direction by Stefan Bednarczyk. Casting is still to be announced.
The show, set in 1936 against the backdrop of the constitutional crisis of Edward VIII and his relationship with Mrs. Wallis Simpson, revolves around one night when a boy meets another boy. According to press materials, Solly (music, lyrics and book) and Ward (book) have lovingly re-created the era of the black and white movie musicals in a show whose original 1975 production ran for 463 performances at Off-Broadway's Actors' Playhouse.
