News London's Money to Burn Abruptly Closes Money to Burn, a new musical about an eccentric aristocrat's attempts to deal with his money problems, has run into its own financial difficulties.

Money to Burn began previews Sept. 29, opened Oct. 9 and closed after the matinee on Saturday, Oct. 11. MTB Productions Ltd stated the closure of the production was "due to the devastating reviews in the national papers and the immediate impact that these reviews had on our future box office. A decision was made to close the show following the 6:30 PM performance on Saturday, 11th October, and the cast and crew were told at a company meeting immediately after the end of the matinee performance. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had helped to make this production happen."

Money to Burn played The Venue, recent home of Boy George's Taboo, which will begin previews on Broadway this month.
