Several cast changes are scheduled in late April for the production of My Fair Lady currently playing the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Beginning April 22 Jonathan Pryce will be replaced as Henry Higgins by Alex Jennings, whose career has been, until now, mainly based at the National Theatre, which is where this production originated.
Malcolm Sinclair, fresh from his success as a batty officer in Privates on Parade at the Donmar, will take over the role as Professor Higgins' friend, Colonel Pickering.
Peter Prentice will play Eliza's would-be boyfriend Freddy Eynsford-Hill, and Dilys Laye will play Higgins' housekeeper, Mrs. Pearce.
Joanna Riding will continue as Eliza Doolittle, as will Dennis Waterman as her father, Alfred. Caroline Blakiston will continue as Mrs. Higgins, the Professor's redoubtable mother.
My Fair Lady has proved a huge success for the National and for impresario Cameron Mackintosh.
