News London's Park Theatre to Premiere Play About the Jimmy Savile Scandal London's Park Theatre is to present the world premiere of An Audience with Jimmy Savile, the first play to examine the scandal of a popular U.K television personality who was discovered after his death to have been a serial sexual abuser of children. Park Theatre will also present a revival of Donald Margulies's Pulizer prize winning play Dinner with Friends as part of its summer and fall season.

Jonathan Maitland, whose play Dead Sheep is currently running at the Park Theatre, follows it with An Audience with Jimmy Savile, drawing extensively on material from genuine interviews, transcripts and TV shows. It will begin performances June 10 for season through July 11. This is followed by The Gathered Leaves, a family drama written by Andrew Keatley and directed by Anthony Eden (running July 15 to Aug. 15), and a new play Lady Anna: All At Sea, by Craig Baxter, inspired by the work of Anthony Trollope, to be directed by Colin Blumenau (running Aug. 19 to Sept. 19). Then Steve Thompson's Roaring Trade will be directed by Alan Cohen (running Sept. 23 to Oct. 24), before Tom Attenborough directs a revival of Donald Margulies's Dinner with Friends (running Oct. 27 to Nov 28). This year's Christmas show is Rapunzel, featuring book, music and lyrics by Jez Bond and Mark Cameron, running Dec. 3 to Jan. 2.

In the smaller Park90 studio, the season includes a revival of Nick Darke's The Dead Monkey directed by Hannah Price almost 30 years since it was first staged by the RSC; Shaun Kitchener's Positive, Julia Pascal's Crossing Jerusalem, the world premiere of Gemma Page and Michael Kirk's Hatched 'n' Dispatched, Daniel Dingsdale's Dark Tourism, George Brant's Grounded and a double-bill of Henry Irvine's The Knight from Nowhere and The Bells.
