The Pleasance Theatre is reacting to the current international situation with a series of new readings, late-night cabarets and debates.
These include War Cabaret at 9 PM on April 7, presented by Music Theatre Works and directed by Fiona Laird, and, at 6.30 PM on April 11, a discussion, Poetic License, with John Caird, Max Stafford Clark and others.
The Pleasance's series of events gives evidence that theatre does react to contemporary events. At a time when the international situation is dominated by stories of war and the preparations for war, Playing Soldiers is a timely examination of the cost and casualties of international conflict.
