News London's Trafalgar Studios to host Notes from New York London's revamped Trafalgar Studios will bolster its fast-growing reputation as a venue for musical theatre by hosting Notes from New York Sept. 19.

The evening follows last month's Independence Day performance at the Arts Theatre and will once again showcase songs by contemporary American composers and lyricists whose music has yet to be seen in the West End. The September edition of Notes will feature songs from Adam Guettel's new musical The Light in the Piazza, none of which has been performed outside the United States. Guettel (Floyd Collins, Myths and Hymns) is the grandson of the famous songwriter Richard Rogers. The evening's repertoire will also feature work by Tony nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine, Hello Again) and John Bucchino (The Lavender Girl, Urban Myths).

Headlining the event is Rebecca Thornhill, who is currently playing the fatal femme fatale Roxie in the long-running West End production of Chicago. Joining Thornhill is Stephen Weller, who played the title role in Martin Guerre.
