News Lonette McKee Plays the Algonquin Starting April 5 Lonette McKee, who portrayed Julie in both the 1983 and 1994 Broadway revivals of Show Boat, goes it solo at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room beginning April 5.

McKee, who earned a Tony nomination for her performance in the 1983 production of the Jerome Kern-Oscar Hammerstein classic, will play the intimate nightspot through April 30. Her show, which is entitled Can't Help Lovin', boasts musical direction by Bette Sussman, who is featured on piano. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are consultants for the show.

Audiences can expect to hear McKee's renditions of "Colors of the Love of My Life," "I Wonder Where Our Love Has Gone," "When a Woman Loves a Man," "Ill Wind" and "How Long Has This Been Going On" as well as her Show Boat signature, "Bill."

Show times are Tuesday-Thursday at 8:30 PM and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 PM and 11 PM.
