Theatre Three, one of Long Island's three largest theatre companies, will present its fifth annual evening of original one-act plays from Feb. 27-March 20. Artistic director Jeffrey Sanzel will direct the quintet of works.

The production will be something of a swan song for Sanzel, who has chosen to resign his post following the 2001-02 season. Sanzel founded the one-act festival in 1998 and has directed every play in the five-year old program.

Appropriately enough, this year's line-up features a one-act called Swan Song by Joe Godfrey. Also in the line-up are The Man With His Mother on His Arm by Jules Tasca; Soccer Moms by Enrique Carrasco; Sons and Mothers by David Fleisher; and Emotional Correctness by Robert Simonson. This is Simonson's third appearance at Theatre Three. His Some Friend was seen in the inaugural 1998 festival, and Which One's Yours? was selected for the 1999 series. [Full disclosure: Simonson is an editor at Playbill On-Line.]

Following is a schedule for the one-act festival:

Wed., Feb. 27 at 8 PM
Sun., March 3 at 7 PM
Wed., March 6 at 8 PM
Sat., March 9 at 3 PM
Sun., March 10 at 7 PM
Wed., March 13 at 8 PM
Sun., March 17 at 3 PM
Wed., March 20 at 8 PM Theatre Three is located in Port Jefferson, Long Island. For more information, call (631) 928-9202.
