LOS ANGELES -- Kieran Angelini's latest comedy, Loonacy, will ring up its world premiere Oct. 13 at the Lee Strasberg Creative Center, with Robert Costanzo and Ken Lerner starring. Anthony Caldarella is the director. The run is through Nov. 19.

Angelini won Drama-Logue Awards for his two previous plays, At the Mat and Anteroom. He is presently developing a new play, Drinking in Church at the Playwright/Directors Unit at the Actors Studio.

Loonacy involves two men, Rudy Keck and Sy Delp, who have rented a cabin in the country to write the biography of their recently deceased mentor and inspirational employer, E. Paul Banks. There are two obstacles: neither Rudy nor Sy has ever written a word; and neither can agree on the details of Banks' life. "The play looks at the perils of following leaders too religiously," said Angelini.

Costanzo has appeared in nearly six dozen feature films, many in major roles including "With Friends Like These" (with Amy Madigan and Alan Arkin) and "Honeymoon in Vegas" (with Nicholas Cage). His many TV appearances include seven episodes of "NYPD Blue" as Dennis Franz's arch-rival, Mafia capo Alfonse Giardella.

Lerner has appeared in 39 movies, including "Godzilla," "What Every Woman Wants" and "The Story of Us." He has had recurring roles on such TV series as "Brutally Normal" and "Chicago Hope."Lee Strasberg Creative Center is located at 7936 Santa Monica Blvd. in W. Hollywood.
