Love, Gilda, a documentary about original Saturday Night Live star Gilda Radner, who also played Broadway, will air on CNN January 5 at 9 PM ET; watch the trailer above.

The film, directed and produced by Lisa D'Apolito, opens a window into the honest and whimsical world of Radner. Working with the Radner estate, director D’Apolito unearthed a collection of diaries and personal audio and videotapes documenting her childhood, her comedy career, her relationships and, ultimately, her struggles with cancer.

Love, Gilda also features appearances by Chevy Chase, Bill Hader, Judy Levy, Melissa McCarthy, Lorne Michaels, Laraine Newman, Amy Poehler, Michael Radner, Maya Rudolph, Stephen Schwartz, Paul Shaffer, Martin Short, Cecily Strong, Alan Zweibel, and Robin Zweibel.

In addition to her screen work, Radner appeared on Broadway in Lunch Hour and Gilda Radner — Live From New York.
