News Love, Janis Star Catherine Curtin Cast in Off-Bway Comedy Bye, Mom! Catherine Curtin, who created the role of Janis Joplin in the New York and Chicago productions of Love, Janis, will star in the new Off-Broadway comedy Bye, Mom! Or How to Not Bury Your Mother.

Susan Austin Roth's play will be presented at the 45th Street Theater beginning Feb. 4. The limited engagement runs through Feb. 20. The cast, directed by Yanna Kroyt Brandt, also features Stephen Bradbury, Michael Gnat, Robert Heller, Lucy McMichael, Norma Rockwood and Rob Sedgwick. Bye, Mom!, according to production notes, concerns "one Jewish mother too stubborn to die, an obsessed daughter and her married lover, [and] three sons: a nebbish, a nerd and an airhead. Toss in an insufferable daughter-in-law and convene them all in Florida. And what do you get? A nasty little comedy about the lack of family values and the joy of family feuding."

The creative team for Bye, Mom! comprises Sarah Pearline (set design), Stephen Sakowski (lighting design) and Elizabeth K. Shelton (costume design).

The 45th Street Theater is located at 354 W. 45th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Tickets, priced at $15, are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com. Show times are Feb. 4-7 at 8 PM, Feb. 9-12 and 16-19 at 8 PM, Feb. 12 and 19 at 2 PM and Feb. 6, 13 and 20 at 3 PM.
