Michole Biancosino conceived and directed the musical, which is presented by Project Y Theatre Company. Billed as an "anti-musical," Lovesick has a book by Lia Romeo, with music and lyrics by Tony Biancosino. Jon Spurney is musical director.
Presented Feb. 3-25, the world premiere will feature a cast of actor-musicians, including Rian Alfiero, Joachim Boyle, Elizabeth Elkins, Barrett Hall, Melissa Hammans, Pat McRoberts, Michael Nathanson, Andrew William Smith, Teresa Stephenson, Aidan Sullivan, Jeff Tuohy, Joe Varca, Jessica Varley and Lisa Velten Smith.
According to the creators, "Amy gets dumped by Chuck right before prom. Susie and Stacy are bridesmaids and think the groom is gay. Brad and Doug have a bro-mantic moment in the elevator. Brian and Jessica wake up after a night only one of them remembers. Lovesick or Things That Don't Happen is an uproarious collection of modern love songs and stories set on the most dreaded day of the year: Valentine's Day."
The production will have set design by Kevin Judge, lighting design by Joseph R. Skowronski and Ben Hagen, and costume design by Emily DeAngelis. Lizzie Lee is stage manager.
