Luba Mason and Caesar Samayoa

Broadway vets Luba Mason (Girl From the North Country) and Caesar Samayoa (Come From Away) will star in the NYC premiere of Michael John LaChiusa and Ellen Fitzhugh's Los Otros, A New Musical in One Act. The Off-Broadway production will begin August 24 at A.R.T./New York Theatres' Mezzanine Theatre with opening night set for August 31. The run will continue through October 8.

With music by LaChiusa and a book and lyrics by Fitzhugh, the semi-autobiographical work tells the story of Californians Lillian (Mason) and Carlos (Samayoa) who, while exploring significant moments in their lives, discover they are linked in unexpected ways.

The musical received its East Coast premiere in 2017 at Baltimore's Everyman Theatre. Noah Himmelstein, who helmed the Baltimore production, will again helm the NYC premiere, leading a creative team that includes music director J. Oconer Navarro, orchestrator Bruce Coughlin, scenic designer Junghyun Georgia Lee, costume designer Alejo Vietti, lighting designer Adam Honoré, and sound designer Ken Travis. Robert Bennett is production stage manager, and Karen Evanouskas is assistant stage manager, with Dailey-Monda Management serving as general manager.

Los Otros is produced by Premieres, founded by Edward Trach and Paulette Haupt. Visit PremieresNYC.org.
